“When I moved into a senior building a few months ago, I had to severely down size. It wasn’t a good time to ask my family if they wanted anything, I have four daughters, but either we were out of touch, didn’t have any transportation, didn’t have a place to keep it, or lived out of state. So since I needed money anyway I sold what I could, gave a bunch away, and packed up what I didn’t have room for and put it in storage.
I furnished my place the way I wanted to with things I wanted around me, that gave me comfort, or were necessary; and sometimes you just need a change of scenery. It didn’t mean that I didn’t cherish the things given to me, it just meant that there wasn’t room for it, so I packed it up to save it for my children. It gives me comfort to know that it is there….if and when they want it.” –Barbara T.
