Donation to Support the San Diego Walk n’ Roll for Ataxia
We are proud to support the 8th Annual San Diego Walk n’ Roll for Ataxia!
San Diego families with ataxia and friends are holding their 8th Walk n’ Roll, proceeds of which are used to help find a cure for ataxia. The annual event will be held on Saturday, September 27th,2014 at Tuna Harbor Park. All proceeds from the event will benefit the National Ataxia Foundation.
The National Ataxia Foundation (NAF) is dedicated to improving the lives of persons affected by ataxia through support, education and research. What is ataxia? The word ataxia means without coordination. People with ataxia have problems with coordination because parts of the nervous system that control movement and balance are affected. Ataxia may affect the fingers, hands, arms, legs, body, speech, and eye movements. The word ataxia is often used to describe a symptom of incoordination which can be associated with infections, injuries, other diseases, or degenerative changes in the central nervous system. The NAF is a membership supported, nonprofit organization established in 1957 to help persons with ataxia and their families. The Foundations’s primary purpose is to support promising ataxia research and to provide vital programs and services for ataxia families.
A-1 Self Storage is honored to once again support the annual event benefiting the National Ataxia Foundation. The Walk n’ Roll for National Ataxia Awareness is a wonderful way to raise awareness and funding for the NAF.
