San Diego families with ataxia and friends are holding their 8th Walk n’ Roll, proceeds of which are used to help find a cure for ataxia. The annual event will be held on Saturday, September 27th,2014 at Tuna Harbor Park. All proceeds from the event will benefit the National Ataxia Foundation.
We are proud to support St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center’s 37th Annual “Haute with Heart” Fashion Show fundraiser.
This annual event raises awareness and financial support for educational and social services rendered to adults with developmental disabilities. The Haute with Heart Fashion Show highlights professional models and community leaders dressed in the latest fashions on the runway.This event also features fabulous boutique shopping, live and silent auctions, opportunity drawings, and a heartwarming performance from the Center’s Singers and Dance Troupe.
We are proud to support Youth and Leaders Living Actively (YALLA) San Diego, Inc.
With college as the goal, YALLA San Diego is the only program in California that uses soccer as a hook to motivate refugee and immigrant youth to rebuild their lives through comprehensive academic, leadership, and therapy programs. Soccer provides an environment for each child participant, regardless of background or ethnicity, to come together and share space both on the pitch as teammates, and through schooling as classmates, and breaks down barriers among youths to facilitate a smooth transition to a communal and participatory learning environment. YALLA San Diego currently serves over 250 refugee and immigrant participants, and their capacity to serve is growing each year.
We are proud to support Saint Peter’s Chaldean Church with their humanitarian efforts and fundraising event for the Iraqi Christian Relief Fund.
Saint Peter’s hosted a fundraising event to raise awareness and funding of the current crisis in Iraq and Syria. Over 600,000 Iraqi Christians are being persecuted, and have been left homeless, living in dire conditions after the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) bombed, ransacked, and seized their homes. The Christian homes now belong to the Islamic State. 100% of the funds raised at the event go directly to buying clothing, food, medicine, and basic necessities for those displaced in this crisis.

Serving Hands International was founded after a large family and many friends made a tradition of giving to the poorest of the poor in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Serving Hands has grown over the past 30 years, expanding their monetary support to partners in Peru, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, and the Philippines. The mission of Serving Hands International is to aid the poorest people in the world and strive to encourage in them self-sufficiency, dignity and hope by providing educational and vocational opportunities, food, clothing, shelter, medical assistance and spiritual guidance.

Our donation is in support of the school’s Building Campaign. Since the school’s inception, they have delivered on their promise to provide students of modest economic means with a college preparatory education aimed at helping young men and women develop the habits of mind and spirit that will enable them to be successful in college, in their careers, and in life. The Corporate Work Study Program, the hallmark of the Cristo Rey Network, is also an integral component of the mission of Saint Martin de Porres High School, which is to transform urban Cleveland one student at a time. The workplace learning that each student experiences will be an integral part of his or her development as a scholar, as a professional, and as a person.
We are proud to support to the Parkinson’s Association of San Diego’s “Big Stage Ballroom Fundraiser.”
The annual event is an effort to raise money and awareness of Parkinson’s Disease. This theatrical dance show features dance professionals and students (including local Parkinson’s doctors) as they perform a variety of dance numbers to the sounds of musical legends. A-1 Self Storage is pleased to announce we will match up to $10,000 in donations to the American Diabetes Association’s Camp Wana Kura 25th anniversary campaign! The ADA’s Camp Wana Kura day camp is held alongside the lakes and under the trees at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve in San Diego County. Campers, ages 5 to 12, play water games, sing songs, run relays, do crafts, swim, go paddle boating, learn new things and connect with other kids living with type 1 diabetes while building new friendships. The Kroc Center’s 6th Annual HEROES Program & Scholarship Campaign raised $109,689 in just 6 weeks! This campaign is an effort to raise funds help more than 2,000 neighbors in need. In the coming year, the Kroc Center will offer scholarships to allow children, families, and seniors to participate in programs that encourage them to discover their talents, and promote creativity, wellness, spiritual discovery, and community engagement.
The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is a 12.4 –acre family support, education, recreation, and cultural arts center, made possible by a generous gift by the late philanthropist Mrs. Joan Kroc. In keeping with the mission and holistic approach of The Salvation Army, the Kroc Center provides opportunities that facilitate positive life-changing experiences.
